ROME - Like in Louisiana, the oil spills live here. Off the coast between Genoa and Savona more than 50 thousand tons of crude oil lying on the seabed. Forgotten by who should clean up the area, it pollutes the water, covers with a grayish mud the fishes that get cancer. Solidified by time up to look like moon rocks, oil crowds the Ligurian fishing nets despite thrown away from the area off limits. Yet, according to authorities, there should be no trace of the biggest ecological disaster in the Mediterranean. That of the supertanker Haven, sank before Arenzano 144mila tons of crude oil after an explosion that killed five sailors on 11 April 1991.
Since then there have been nearly twenty years but the effects of neglect or carelessness, bureaucracy or denouncing superficiality ,as Report (a well known italian tv show) broadcasts in a documentary this evening by Sigfrido Ranucci, are evident among those tarred fish dying from the bottom. A disaster without a guilty as the greek Cypriot company didn't paid out after blames the captain, who died in the accident. A disaster that continues in the indifference, although researchers paid by the State alerted the government and ministries of the seriousness of the situation.
Just a few numbers tell the italian story . In the aftermath of the accident, experts estimate the ecological damage in two trillion lire. Italy 117 receives as compensation for deciding to use it: 32 to cleaning up the sea and 60 communes of the coast by way of compensation. In fact, billions have been spent only 16 (about EUR 8 million) to reclaim part of the Haven - after the Berlusconi government had entrusted them to the Civil Protection in 2005 - and then certifying that the waters were clean. This was not, obviously, but so long ago and the other 8 million euro to clean up the water - and re-allocated to the Civil Protection in 2009 - were used to secure the Stoppani, a company that had polluted chromium and copper water, and partly due to the mobility of workers.
The oil on the sea floor does not seem to be interested, you can not see from the shore, on the surface of the water either. So much so that the 60 billion going to compensate the municipalities are used to rebuild the boardwalk, Arenzano, fix the sewers or the area and the former railway. Yet experts have said many times over the years: there is no map of the seabed to find out where the tar is finished, there is risk to the sea, to the population. In 1995, four years after the disaster of the Haven, for example, researchers from the Institute for Applied Marine Research, commissioned by the Ministry of Environment to prepare a plan for remediation, with a bathyscaphe descend to 700 meters. And they see endless stretches of tar, fish in the crevices of bitumen.
"The problem is that the residual hydrocarbons are capable of inducing cancer. We found the fish that live in close contact with the bottom and noticed as one species in particular, show symptoms, signs of liver cancer." Reactions? "It was decided to turn a blind eye, as if the problem did not exist," said Ezio Amato, then scientific director of the government for the remediation Haven.
Since then nothing has changed, the fishermen in their nets find pieces of tar such as boulders, fishes covered in raw that they must clean up with oil if they want to sell it .The Civil Defence and the Presidency of the Council consider the matter closed . Only the Ministry of Environment says he is ready to collect reports of pollution, "as if he had never seen the report of its own scholars 15 years ago." But the worst, says Ranucci, is that the history of Louisiana could be repeated in Italy seen as the application is submitted for drilling in search of oil: from companies based phantom, without going on the seats, without even taking into account where you want it search for gas or oil is an active volcano.

Acerra reporters teased and fenced
Acerra incinerator, October 28, at 11. Called for a press conference by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who wants to make the point on the waste emergency in Campania, I and colleagues find that the private room at the meeting is unbecoming of a closet just over 10 square meters, less than twenty meters from the processes plant. There are just thirty chairs, including eight reserved for 'authority'. Berlusconi is inspecting the inside of incinerators: tour off limits to reporters, allowed only a few camera.
A diligent security officer of Premier, tells us that the press conference will begin after noon. We are packed like sardines. There are at least a hundred people, and moreover it was not difficult to foresee a boom in credit, given the theme of the conference and the expectation around the words of Berlusconi, and the trash is back to flood Naples and the press turned on again a spotlight on a new sexual scandal President of the Council.
Meander lines. One of the most popular: If you intend to resolve the emergency, such as organizing press conferences, we are ruined. It's hot. There is no air. You will suffer. When everything finally seems ready for the arrival of the premier, the diligent security officer of the above makes a stern face and points his finger at reporterswho, due to overcrowding are waiting standing and intend to follow up the conference, to the right of the conference table. "You have to go out for security reasons. Here you can not stand. " They fear that we throw a statue at the head of Berlusconi? The undersigned is one of the unfortunate. Neither the fact helps him to qualify as a journalist of 'il Fatto'. Indeed. The official insisted there is targeting. Then there appease: "So you will not be a press conference, they will only statements and there are no questions, there are outside speakers and follow everything." At that point all complain, that we should have called for? The fact is that, by citizens who still believe in the sincerity of the institutions, my colleagues and I remained standing and position ourselves we move outside, on the other side of that kind of prefabricated disguised as a press room, where he probably first guarded the brums and rags. Then there's the civil protection 'fencing' with the hurdles positioned as a kind of barrier between our position and the front door of the incinerator, where a summit concluded Berlusconi will have to go out, and Caldoro and Bertolaso, to cover the twenty meters that separate them from the place of the press conference. I and several colleagues at the Sole 24 Ore, of Rome, of Metropolis, some local newspapers, we remain open, with no possibility to move, trapped by the barriers. Only thing missing is for someone to throw us the peanuts.
Flash reaches Him. Cameras in action. Conference. Then you open to questions. And he unleashes the anger of those left out and can not ask them. The undersigned would like to ask the Prime Minister where he intends to locate the fourth incinerator I apologize to readers if I failed to do my duty to the end. But it was not my fault.

Berlusconi's new scandal
UPDATE: Further reports state that Ruby, the aspiring model making allegations against Berlusconi, did not indicate she had sexual relations with him, only that she went to his villa for parties and received gifts. The Telegraph reports that there are no charges facing either party.
Italian Prime minister Silvio Berlusconi is being accused of giving a cash "gift" to Ruby, the moniker given to a teenage Moroccan model coming forth with the allegations, the Italian press is reporting. (Read the Google translation here.) The newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano is reporting that Ruby claims to have received 30,000 euro from the 74-year-old prime minister.
Ruby, who is not yet 18, reports that she visited multiple parties at Berlusconi's home last year. She has claimed that their encounters took place in Berlusconi's villa in Arcore, a city outside of Milan, according to the Dallas Blog. The PM has been accused of similar events before, including an alleged affair last year with Noemi Letizia, an aspiring model, after he attended her eighteenth birthday party and gave her an expensive necklace. Berlusconi denied the affair.
The allegations are also being compared with the scandal over Patrizia D'Addario, a call girl who claimed to have been paid to sleep with Berlusconi.
Ruby's allegations emerged after she was picked up by the police for not having a residency permit after being thrown out of an apartment she shared with a roommate in Milan. She asked for leniency because of her connection with Berlusconi, and then made the claims of sexual relations, reports the Telegraph. Investigating magistrates warn that "her accounts were sometimes contradictory and that she had made claims which she subsequently retracted," the Telegraph noted.
Berlusconi denies the affair, saying through a lawyer that, "alleged statements made by 'Ruby' in relation to events at the home of Berlusconi are completely unfounded,"

The police spy on Facebook in Italy
In the U.S., including thousands of controversy, is studying a bill that, if approved by Congress, will allow the federal investigative agencies without a warrant to break into technology platforms like Facebook and gain all their confidential data. In Italy this have already done. The leaders of the police two weeks ago went to Palo Alto, California, and took away the first in Europe, a cooperation pact that provides for the possibility of activating an endless series of checks on the pages of social networks without having to submit a request of the judiciary and allow the time required for an international letter rogatory. This is because, they explain, the timely intervention is essential to repress certain crimes because of the speed at which changes in real time on the Internet.
The Italian digital detectives are engaged primarily in the fight against child pornography, phishing scams and data transmission, but also to avoid inconvenience to the public figures whose profiles are created without their knowledge. Intent may be shared, but in fact the police can open the virtual doors of our homes without requiring the authorization of a prosecutor. Specifically, the 400 staff of the Police Investigation Department of Post and Communications and record can browse through the nearly 17 million Italians to Facebook profiles.
But are we confident that everything will respect our privacy? In fact, a couple of years now, the Italian sheriffs riding over the prairies of bits,AAS Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza and even policemen plumb the Internet community to obtain sensitive information, build their network of relationships, confirm or refute alibis and prosecute offenders. More and more people lead a parallel existence on the Net and this explains why the investigations take their place alongside traditional long virtual stalking. The difference is that because of the enormous potential of the Web and the ease with which they violate privacy of others is very easy to get targeted by cybercop do not need stained with crimes, but enough to have allowed the friendship to someone who gravitate to environments "interesting" to the police.
In Milan, for example, a section of the local police wanted by Deputy Mayor Riccardo De Corato unleashes his "cast" in groups of writers, in order to infiltrate their community and identify the signatures of urban graffiti to track and report them to the authors for contamination . The bands of Chinese adolescents, between Lombardy and Piedmont, terrorizing his countrymen with extortion, are continuously monitored by the interpreters of the police who sneak into QQ, the most popular chat community. Even South American gangs, the protagonists in the past score-settling in Genoa and Milan, are monitored by the police. And the boards of the offices of the flying squad are covered with photos downloaded from Facebook, where the leaders of gangs that call themselves the Latin King, or Forever Ms18 were tagged with other guys from South America, enabling agents to know their plan.
True experts in the monitoring of the Web are now of Digos investigators, who have stopped growing a beard to stroll around the centers or to shave the hair to attend the curves of the staDIUMSs. Much easier to break into groups considered at risk with the click of a mouse. As for the Carabinieri, each operating department authorizes its military, the degree of sergeant up, log in to any website for undercover investigations, especially in the world of drug dealing among young people who use chat to fix the exchange of drugs or to order doses to be received in schools. While, to prevent trouble during the rave, the companies of the Carabinieri of the province was asked to join the social networking site Netlog, where fans of techno music come together for rallies calling fans from all over Europe. Searching for ravers there are twenty compartments of the Police Post and Communications, located in all regional capitals and 76 sections located in the province.
"Our goal is to prevent the raves before they begin," they explain, "and so we join in the discussions between the organizers and participants in social networks, forums and blogs." So it can happen that even those who have just participated in a chat room to comment on a band ends up being X-rayed without his knowledge.
In theory, these activities are coordinated by the prosecutor leading the investigation of individual facts or phenomena wider. The leaders of social networks do not hold us to know and speak of a general offer of cooperation with law enforcement to prevent their platforms favoring certain crimes.
A detective reveals to Milan "The Express" and, thanks to the permissions of the judiciary, which has long obtained from the makers of Facebook to see the hundreds of Italy's reserved as many people, even managing to have access to the contents of the chat by going back in time to one year. Those who believe that you have set the functions of confidentiality so as not to let anyone see the photos, post and exchange messages with other friends, in fact, if there is a suspect in his group, is laid bare and of these intrusions will never be known.
And the court is not always made aware of how investigations are conducted . A Carabinieri officer, who asked to remain anonymous, admits that certain violations of the law on confidentiality of communications are conducted with ease, "Sometimes," says the officer "create a false female identity on Fb, MSN or other chat insert in the profile picture of a woman police officer, preferably young and pretty, and launch the bait. Our attempts a virtual police officer with the person on which we collect information, possibly complimented for a tattoo. And soon we are part of his group managed to become "friends" of all the subjects that interest us. "
Of all this activity, the officer explains, "we do not always a guide to the prosecution and in minutes we only mention a mysterious source confidential." From today, under cooperative agreement with Mark Zuckerberg signed by the police, who carries out these investigations may fail to alert a judge to ask why "the investigative imagination can wander," predicts an official of Polposta, "and virtual observations can also be used in prior investigations. Against ethnic stores
Novara (town in the north) gets the order against the stores' ethnic ',' After the no to the Islamic veil, the prohibition of "station" in parks and gardens for more than two people to sell and consume alcoholic beverages in all areas of green space with 24-hour 24-games, there's "the provisions to combat urban decay. " This is the order of "restriction of business and craft of selling products 'ethnic' and provisions for foreign operators," issued on 11 October by the deputy mayor of the town of Novara Silvana Moscatelli (PDL) is a successor to former mayor Massimo Giordano (Lega Nord) (party in the government) revoked by its function - but not resigned - to be appointed Deputy Mayor for Economic Development of the Piedmont Region.
The order sets out some stakes for the business of foreigners. First, the prohibition of open stores, "ethnic" like less than 150 meters from each other, to translate the signs in Italian, the introduction of a language test 'to assess the basic knowledge of Italian language and reading skills of an Italian text "unless the operator has not already earned a degree in our country. Last but not least, the prohibition of forming knots of people who consume food and drinks outside of work. "
"This is ridiculous order, restricts freedoms and discriminatory - says Nicholas Fonzo, Novara city councilor and member of the Left, ecology and freedom - ridiculous because taken literally would require the translation of foreign words now commonly used as a 'restaurant', 'pub', 'brasserie', 'bed and breakfast' and so on. Freedom-and discriminatory because it prohibits individuals to form groups outside shops, however, only turning to foreigners. Can you imagine a policeman in fact going to fine the group of boys outside the pub during the hour of the aperitif? "
For Alderman Mauro Franzinelli Security, the controversy of the opposition are "understandable, but instrumental." The order of the commissioner would have to do anything but a discriminatory: "It is not possible to concentrate the business 'ethnic' all in the same area of the city, particularly in the district of Sant'Agabio where foreigners, mostly North African represent more than 30% of the population. " This explains, according Franzinelli, because the spacing of at least 150 meters ethnic shops of the same type. "As for symbols, it is obvious that you refer to those languages that are incomprehensible to Italians as Arabic, Cyrillic and Chinese and not those easily recognizable."
"The ordinance is very general - continues Fonzo that last week, along with all the opposition, called for the convening of a special commission in an urgent session to discuss the measure - it is not clear which languages refer or who are the figures responsible for carrying out checks on. " Indeed, the order is known as "sales and / or production of handmade products that are predominantly 'ethnic' food." But what is meant by 'ethnic'? The text reads "products are not part of culinary tradition and Italian food." The croissants? The chicken curry? The hamburgers? No, "the kebab rotisserie of China and the Islamic butcher shop for instance." In short, the order points the finger at the Arab and Chinese businesses but placing them as an example only and do not explicitly evoke.
The content of this ordinance, it seems more political than technical. "Just a little 'more than common sense - says Paolo Cortese, commander of the municipal police of Novara - These ordinances provide for penalties which then are never actually applied." How to identify and fine in fact the "station" of two or more persons in a park at night? "The rules are there and must be respected - continues Cortese - The Italian test may seem discriminatory but it serves to protect all foreigners and Italians." Out of 35 stores checked by the ASL, 21 were non-standardized, 3 were closed for lack of elementary hygiene rules. "When we go to serve the legal documents in these stores, we frequently encounter in owners who are unable to understand the content of what is alleged against them. Then it is clear that the need to know the Italian is not discrimination but a matter of integration and the protection of public health. "

Corruption, Italy getting worse
For Transparency International is the place 67th
The Beautiful Country, the world's top fair, slips four positions compared to 2009 and ends behind Rwanda and Samoa. The United States out of the top twenty, only winning the 22nd step
ROME - Bad news for corruption theme in the Bel Paese. According to the NGO Transparency International ranking, prepared and presented this morning by analyzing 178 countries, Italy slipped to 67th place in the index on corruption. Our country is set back four positions compared to 2009 and as many as 12 on 2008.
The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) is considered far more credible in the world to measure corruption in the public sector. In addition to cases of corruption in the strict sense, affect the CPI all issues of mismanagement of public at large that occur in the country, a very large extent at the local level. In fact, health care (administered by the Regions) is the sector where most poor governance manifests itself. And the CPI recorded that the credibility outside Italy on corruption is decreasing and that the alarm on domestic social issue is growing.
Countries receive a score from zero to 10 (with zero indicating high levels of corruption and 10 low). Italy is in 67th place with a score of 3.9 worsened compared to 2009 (when it was in 63rd place with a score of 4.3) and 2008 (at 55th place with 4.8).Better than we do and Rwanda Samoa. The most honest countries are more peaceful: Denmark and New Zealand. At the bottom, the countries devastated by war (Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia) or ruled by a military junta as Burma. The United States has left the top 20 of least corrupt will, at 22nd place.

Go Luxemburg!
Dolce and Gabbana are close to trial for tax evasion by one billion euro. The indiscretion of the press is a few days ago. In June, the City of Milan unrolled the red carpet for the twentieth anniversary of the brand, proposed as an important cultural event. Screens, Celebrities, City Hall turned into a set of advertising, a drink offered to the people in the downtown bars. The fiscal and judicial investigation was already known but it was preferred not to talk about, in the name of "Made in Italy and its suppliers. NAPLES, WASTE EVERYWHERE
Vincent Iurillo (www.ilfattoquotidiano.it)
The lady dressed in black has a small dog on a leash. She notices the reporter taking pictures of piles of garbage that polluted the center of Naples and , screaming. "You have to write it: from here to Berlusconi and Bassolino (former Naples mayor and former governor of Campania region) nothing has changed. Rubbish is the same as before. These potiticians were garbage before, and garbage are now.. Have you written?
There is tension between the Neapolitans. They look at the heaps of rubbish and they ask trivial. What happened to the miracle of Berlusconi? We had ensured that the crisis of the past were only a memory. After winning the election on the promise that never again would be repeated scenes of the third world in Bassolino era, The garbage is here again. The return to normal emergency.
TWO THOUSAND tons of bags occupying the sidewalks, preventing the car, spilling over into the streets, blocking the entrances of shops and hospitals. outside the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital, the amount of garbage is liable to hinder the operations of the ambulance to the emergency room. A Via Alcide De Gasperi, in the vicinity of the Guardia di Finanza, a stretch of sidewalk is impassable. A man eats an apple and throw the stalk bags on the bags to the ground. A via Marina trash bins are overflowing with vegetables and boxes on the market: wet wood andvegetables ferment well together with the warm sun in late October. A Toledo street in the heart of shopping, heaps of garbage almost obscure the great window of a mega store for children. Cross the platform and the same scene is repeated in front of a clothing store chain in Spain. It is almost impossible to get into it. "They do not take their garbage for a week" confirms an employee.
By a curious law of retaliation, the largest and most stinking mountains, which emerge from the ruins of cakes, card rooms and gaming bets, the tetra-pack fruit juice bottles and plastic baggy, have formed near the Palace the Province of Naples. That province whose president Luigi Cesaro (PDL) ( party of actual Government) is the man who by law should handle the waste cycle and Napoli ferry out of this new disaster. But the president has lowered the flag: a few weeks ago, threatened to resign if Guido bertolaso (the government responsible for emergencies who managed that one of one year ago) returns , yesterday issued a statement to say happy he arrived to manage the landfills. "There are days I say that one should not speak of the structural crisis and emergency. It is simply a matter of proper waste management. I look Bertolaso in Naples in the evenings - added Cesaro - to be operational immediately and send it in person all the initiatives already taken by the Province. "
What are these initiatives? In the provincial council has been able only to mention the enlargement of existing landfills. But then back down at the first signs of protest. He wrote that would do anything to prevent the opening of the second landfill site in the Vesuvius National Park. But failed to find alternatives. And now he gets angry with the other provinces who do not want to accept the garbage of Naples. A little 'bit.
While the stench of garbage wrapped Naples, Naples Mayor Rosa Russo Iervolino Pd ( party of opposition) convened a press conference to do what in ten years she does best: throw the ball in the stands and yell for help. "The Lord protect us," she said. Needed. "Enough with the lies - the Iervolino said - the crisis in waste disposal in Naples does not depend on Naples and its rate differential. The situation - according to the mayor - comes from so many lies, especially three. The triumphalism solemn ad of the Government ,a few months ago, "the crisis is over." "The crisis is the lack of waste in Naples, but we are 19%, and then - notes - to Palermo, which is 4%, it was blamed? E 'Napoli does not want to make a separate' but give us our money spent on those other institutions, the Region and the Province. "
NINETEEN million euro that the '"governmental"' Caldoro Stefano and Luigi Cesaro not disengage. At the moment, the sorted waste in Naples are only 135,000 inhabitants in a million. Sin in the few districts where it is active, the sorted achieve excellent results. All this on an area that has the highest percentage of urban-waste workers per capita in Italy. The accounts never return. The Iervolino but said he was "disappointed by the lack of solidarity from the other provinces." "I must give credit to Caldoro - said the mayor - that he had the courage to exercise the powers authorized replacement spill in three other provinces but it is ridiculous that the mayors of those countries to rebel because they were asked to help for five days" . Terzigno (Naples) Continue the violent protests against the landfill
Terzigno -. After a night that saw a massive deployment of security forces to clear the access to the landfill Sari (Near Terzigno, a town near Naples), this morning a group of people burned five auto-compacting waste in the landfill in the area of Terzigno . The trucks, escorted by police were hit by stones and other objects. The drivers got out and fled. The resources have been surrounded by hundreds of protesters and charged by the police. Other people armed with sticks have destroyed the windows of several shops in the historic center. Then, symbolically, they burned the Italian flag. The flagpole of the Municipality has lowered the flag to half mast and exposed with a black cloth to the applause of the crowd. A Fiat Punto police with no passengers on board, was on fire.
Many panicked parents went to school to pick up their children before the end of the school and in the meantime hundreds of people, including students of the technical and commercial Vesevus Boscoreale, mothers 'volcanic' - the women protagonists in a series of peaceful initiatives against the landfill of Terzigno - have a new roadblock. The intersections that lead to the round overview , this morning ,have been invaded by tree branches, street signs and trash bags. Next to them the police cordon.
After he resigned from office in protest , the mayor of Terzigno, Domenico Auricchio, at 9.30 was waiting to be received by President Berlusconi on waste ("We want answers, or if I can not find a solution by tomorrow morning I'll be down the street with my fellow citizens to protest, "he said), it was finally received by the premier. "Berlusconi - said the exit of the meeting which was also attended by Undersecretary Bertolaso - was our last hope. He promised that tomorrow morning will be an extraordinary Council of Ministers to address the situation."
Berlusconi had already seen the mayor 20 days ago, on his birthday. "We had ensured that he would come to Terzigno, but then did not come," said Auriemma. "We oppose the decision was taken yesterday at the table of the summit of the PDL (government party) in which it was established that will continue opening the second dump, we want to know what happened and why administrators Campania before had said something and now tell another, "said the mayor.
Tonight the area of the landfill had been manned by thousands of protesters, including women and children. The police intervened with forty armored vehicles and more than 200 officers wielding batons and shields, have besieged the area and chased the demonstrators. Numerous charges and tear gas. Two people, one woman and a boy, were arrested and later released. Three more have been reported to be bruised in the clashes. A group of young people with their faces covered by scarves launched large firecrackers, rockets, crude stones and Molotov cocktails at two police trucks in defense of the access road to the landfill. The officers responded with tear gas repeatedly, who fell into the crowd. Were dramatic moments, with people running away in search of shelter. Someone has put down in the escape and burned a car, seems to belong to the police.
The chief of police. "We regret that issues that other parties are called upon to solve are in a role of supplementing the police," said the police chief, Antonio Manganelli, commenting on the fighting on the sidelines of a hearing in the Senate . "We - he added - we are not certain enemies who protest, we do our job. As a Terzigno must be spilled, we will ensure that this is possible even if it cost the use of force," he said.
The second landfill. To trigger a new wave of protests was the decision of the parliamentarians of the PDL Campania, along with Stephen Caldoro the governor and the presidents of the provinces of Naples, Avellino and Salerno, Cesaro, Sibilia and Ciriello, to give the go-ahead to the second landfill in the Park Vesuvius National, in places Cava Vitelli. It would be the biggest landfill of Europe. A green light that is not going down to the local administrators (mayor Boscoreale, Gennaro Langella, resigned from the PDL) and the people that denounce the very serious inconvenience already caused by the landfill first opened, the Sari, it would be because of 'pollution of aquifers and from which for months unbearable stench. At the end of the 'battle', on the ground are all kinds of debris in the air, the unbearable stench of the landfill.
The mayor of Boscoreale said: "He won the Camorra (camorra is the mafia of Naples area)." It has no doubt. "Who wants the opening of this landfill? But you have no idea what interest, the sums that will turn around this economic landfill?" He said before concluding: "It's definitely very serious that the institutions are made complicit in all this ".
Stefano Caldoro (governor of the region). "There is a law and must be applied. And if the law provides for the opening of the new landfill Cava Vitiello, so it will be," he assured Caldoro in an interview with the Journal, the governor of Campania, which explains not prove " no embarrassment "to the fact that two of the three presidents of the province who have reacted harshly to the decision to send in their jurisdictions the waste of Terzigno are party comrades in the PDL. On protesting against the landfill, Caldoro said: "There's good people and there are people that are inherent to sow chaos with violence."

Italy is in fourth place in the list of exporters of conventional weapons to the nations of the South
In the package, customers are also countries that do not respect the human rights .With one hand we send humanitarian aid, the other selling machine guns and tanks. The great hypocrisy of Italian foreign policy (and throughout the West) against the third world has been ruthlessly stripped from a report for members of Congress, entitled "Conventional Arms Transfers to Developing World, 2002-2009" analyzing trends and numbers of deliveries of arms to countries in the developing world.
Last year our country has signed military contracts for $ 2.4 billion, a figure that puts him in 4th place in the ranking of conventional arms exports to poor nations. In front there are only U.S., Russia and France. The business for factories tricolor is a sharp increase, considering that in 2008 the export was of "only" 1.3 billion. Italy produces 9.16% of arms exports in the world: more than half of these (59.3%) ends up in the arsenals of nations in the developing world. Between 2006 and 2009, the beautiful country gave weapons to African armies for 500 million dollars. But the emerging market is the Middle East over the past three years, contracts were signed for 3 billion and 700 million. Important markets in Asia, where orders rose from 300 million in 2002-2005 to 1 billion 300 million in the last three years.
Italy is in good company: in 2009 alone, sales of arms to the Third World earned $ 45 billion to the West. U.S. and Russia, major suppliers since the Cold War continue to dominate the market, but European manufacturers are now formidable competitors. According to the report, Germany, France, Britain and Italy are able to provide a "wide variety of highly sophisticated weapons." To convince buyers are on the field and prime ministers. European countries, insisted the dossier, "have increased their competitiveness through a strong marketing support from governments." An example? The visit made by Silvio Berlusconi in Kazakhstan last year. Shortly thereafter, the Selex Galileo (Finmeccanica group) completed a major contract to equip the old Soviet T-72 tanks with advanced optical systems. An agreement to which the company prides itself on its website. But the deal appears to conflict with the Code of Conduct adopted by the EU in 2005, which sets strict conditions for the export of weapons. Among these, in paragraph 2, there is respect for human rights by the buyer. It does not seem to happen in Kazakhstan, where Nazarbayev has been in power for 20 years and whose only members of parliament sitting president's party-master.
The code, moreover, often remains a dead letter, overshadowed by economic considerations. No one has too many scruples in selling airplanes, ships and guns to the Gulf countries, which do not stand for civil liberties. Between 2002 and 2009 Saudi Arabia has spent more than anyone else: 40 billions of petrodollars. The tensions in the Middle East are the main driving force of a market in which to do a roaring trade, mainly the U.S. F16 fighter jets that sell to both Israel and Egypt, while Black Hawk helicopters are selling in the UAE. Russia instead looks to Asia: in 2009 he sold to Vietnam six Kilo-class submarines to 1 billion 800 million. China is the emerging exporter in Africa, where it is needed especially small arms and hunting less sophisticated than Western. In this way, Beijing increases its power status in the area and takes advantage in the scramble for natural resources of the African continent.
The cake is very rich and all the powers involved in the banquet in the third world are sent weapons, land, water and sea. One thing above all: the last three years the U.S. has sold 446 tanks to the third world, Russia 420, the "big" European 230. The demand never stops, despite the economic crisis. And the West is always ready to satisfy it.

Freedom of the press as in 2009,Italy is in the 49th place with Burkina Faso
" A another year as partially free country. In its annual ranking of the Reporters Without Borders Italy holds the 49th place on a par with Burkina Faso and a slight advantage with El Salvador. The grounds stated in the report, published today, says: "There has been no progress in several countries where RSF highlighted problems. Among these, especially, France and Italy, where the events of last year - violations of the protection of journalists' sources, the continued concentration of media ownership, demonstrations of contempt and impatience on the part of government officials against journalists and of their work, court summonses - have confirmed their inability to reverse this trend.
"It's disturbing to see that many EU member states continue to fall in the standings - said today, Jean-Francois Julliard, Secretary General of RSF - If you are not running together, the EU risks losing its position as world leader respect for human rights. Should this happen, how could it be convincing when asked to authoritarian regimes improvements in human rights? There is urgent need for European countries to recover exemplary behavior. "
Northern Europe in the lead - in the first place, tied, are Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. All have had this honor since the ranking was created nine years ago, except in 2006 (Norway) and 2009 (Iceland). These six countries where respect for journalists in general and for the work of the media is considered an untouchable value as well as the need to protect against judicial abuses.
Ten countries in which journalists to be dangerous - until 2009, in the eight previous editions of the charts, the last three rankings were always occupied by Eritrea, North Korea and Turkmenistan. This year, the "group of the worst" has expanded to ten countries, characterized by harassment of the media and a complete lack of news and information: in addition to three already mentioned, Laos, Rwanda, Yemen, China, Sudan, Syria, Burma and Iran. In countries openly at war or where there are internal conflicts, like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia and Mexico, "a culture of violence and impunity - RSF says the press release of the accompanying charts - makes printing the preferred target." Journalists are often confiscated. Just think Taponier and Stéphane Hervé Ghesquière, French TV journalists held hostage in Afghanistan for 300 days.
Economic growth does not mean freedom of the press - The countries of the so-called "BRIC" - Brazil, Russia, India and China - have had a phase of economic development is quite similar, but differences in the field of press freedom in 2010 are remarkable. Thanks to positive changes in legislation, Brazil (58 °) increased by 12 positions from last year, while India (122 °) decreased by 17. Russia is ranked very low, at 140 th place. The case of Anna Politkovskaya, the Russian journalist murdered on October 7, 2006 in front of his home, which has had great resonance in Europe, is not an isolated case. On 19 January last year Baburova Anastasia, 25 year-old Russian journalist who wrote in the same journal of Politkovskaya, was killed in downtown Moscow with a gunshot wound to the neck. Finally, China, as evidenced by the reactions to the Nobel Prize awarded to Liu Xiabo, sentenced to 11 years in prison continues to censor and imprison dissidents. The only positive views of China, a very active and lively blogosphere continues, with great effort, to "pierce" the wall of censorship.

Berlusconi in Antigua
The proverb says that lies have short legs, but as Giovanni Sartori wrote a few years ago, in Italy they have very long legs because, as Sartori said, the truth is unacceptable here since even the public television service, namely RAI, is gagged, which enables Berlusconi and his henchmen to lie without fear of being caught out. We know that everyone tries to pass off the odd lie, but in a place where the public television is truly independent, lies have very short legs while here in Italy they have very long legs indeed. There is no way to establish the truth of what is broadcast on our television..
Genuine lies
However, it’s enough to simply wait awhile because a few days, months or even years later, the lies are eventually revealed as such. The problem is that even then no one ever really finds out precisely what happened because we are never told how the story ends, so we make some examples, also because lies are no longer just stories about invented facts served up as the truth, or about genuine facts manipulated and used as propaganda, but lies are also where someone uses the wrong word to define something, in other words, when things are no longer called by their rightful name, but rather by another name in order to sidetrack public attention.
Just the other day in Florence, at a conference organised by “LibertĂ e Giustizia”, Former Constitutional Court President Gustavo Zagrebelsky quoted a few examples of what he called “neo-language”, a language that has taken root in Italy since the boss of the television services also became the boss of the Country’s politics, as well as the economy and everything else. In the end, he even became the boss of words so that, in the end, we all began to speak like him, no longer paying any attention to the meaning and the properties of the words, which naturally became grist for the mill of the regime liars who re-coined the meaning of terms such as taking to the field, love, hate, liberty, the Italians’ party and many others that we could mention. These are terms whose meanings have been re-invented or bent out of shape in recent years to take on different meanings in our vocabulary. It’s sufficient to think about all of the linguistic fraud surrounding the war, which was called a “peace mission” while our soldiers were busy dying. So when we undertake a “peace mission” and our soldiers start dying, then we have to call the soldiers heroes, even thug, in reality, they are not heroes at all because they never did anything heroic, they were simply there, doing their duty and getting killed because of it so, in actual fact, they were victims, not heroes, but victims of what? Victims of peace? No, they were victims of war, and therein lies proof of the fact that once you have lied once, you are then forced to continue lying in order to maintain the illusion.
I would like to begin by looking at what happened last night on Milena Gabanelli’s debut edition of the “Report” programme, and how the whole episode was handled by a number of newspapers. If you want a good laugh, just take a look at today’s edition of “Il Giornale”, whose headline reads “The Public Prosecutors’ investigation that nailed Fini, the Monte Carlo apartment, the Monegasque magistrates and the Roman magistrates: the residence was worth one million, more than three times the actual sale price, which now makes it extremely difficult to archive the matter. A leaked report from the Principality ends up on the Antilles and attempts to pass off Berlusconi as the President of the Chamber, which, if it weren’t for the fact that this appears to be a legitimate newspaper because it looks just like all the others, would be a real hoot. “Report” should have stuck to Monte Carlo and simply repeat the same things that we have already heard a million times before instead of going to the Antilles where, not Berlusconi’s brother-in-law, but Berlusconi himself owns a number of villas, having cemented over an entire promontory and a bay and having spent around twenty million to do so. Twenty million that went through we know not whom, because we don’t know to whom these companies that are busy building this gigantic tourist resort belong and, above all, we don’t know who all is involved in this famous, or rather infamous Arner Bank, whose Milan branch office is currently under investigation by the Milan and Palermo prosecutors due to suspected money laundering activities. This Arner Bank is the one where Berlusconi hold current account No. 1 and where the Italian Central Bank has already reported potential money laundering activities involving certain funds, part of which, according to the prosecutors, belong to none other than our very own Prime Minister himself. Thus “Report” has finally set the record straight and it now turns out that this is not a case of Berlusconi’s brother-in-law being suspected of renting or owning a 55 square metre apartment in Monte Carlo that was sold to an offshore company by Alleanza Nazionale, but Berlusconi himself owning a number of villas registered in the name of certain offshore companies linked to one specific offshore company that no one quite knows to who is behind it and that is, above all, using money moved through a bank suspected by the Milan and Palermo public prosecutors of being involved in money-laundering activities. Obviously one would now expert “Il Giornale” and “Libero” to immediately begin gathering signatures calling for Berlusconi’s resignation and to publish 60/90 front page articles followed by campaigns on Tg1, Tg2, Tg5, Studio Aperto, Rete 4, Panorama, etc. But no, instead we know that nothing will come of all this.
Instead, they continue to dredge up the story of the little apartment in Monaco rather than raise their sights from the brother-in-law and for a change to start taking a look at our Prime Minister, who is fully occupied in the offshore world and in every Caribbean tax haven known to man. What is also interesting is the fact that an “independent” newspaper, namely “La Stampa” of Turin that belongs to the FIAT Group, also carried this news that was reported by “Report” but was preceded by yet another controversial bit of news, namely that Attorney Ghedini was demanding the precautionary censorship of this television programme and threatening legal action without even waiting to see what it contained, so much so that Ms. Gabanelli candidly stated: perhaps you should watch the programme first and then, by all means, take us to court, but how can you take legal action even before we go on air?

Intifada around the Vesuvius-rubbish again
Barricades of waste, trucks on fire. And police sent to stop people.
Henry Fierro
(www.ilfattoquotidiano.it)
Terzigno (a small town near Naples where the goverment wants to open new waste disposals) off limits. We do not enter. Heaps of garbage, rotten beams, old furniture and even a toilet are the barricade. We must change course, take again the road to Angri crammed with waste, cans, old mattresses and mounds of food waste rotting down, and exit at Boscoreale. Here the blocks are heavier. There is a pull across to plug access, a bus line to block another. Two men carry on their shoulders a huge wardrobe to raise another barricade. Scenes of war in what was the Vesuvius National Park, now renamed by a placard hoisted by protesters "Park of rubbish."
The protesters occupied the town and climbed on the roofs. It also deals with the municipality of Boscoreale: people enter the room of the mayor and throws everything into the air. Papers and furniture. Around there are police officers, police departments and Mobile are all round the two sites which infect the lives of "Vesuvius". This is where the night between Monday and Tuesday and at dawn yesterday flew beatings, there were detentions and arrests, battered women, police officers wounded, trucks on fire. In the square in Boscoreale (another small town near Naples), a man as big as a wardrobe takes stock of the intifada s.
... three guards have sent to the hospital, 5 protesters have been arrested." Result: at nine o'clock in the morning via Zabatta, the road leading to the landfill Terzigno is still a long line of auto-compacting. Filled with waste and waiting. Thirty-eight passed, waiting for another thirty. The roundabout has become the headquarters of the uprising, and on roads leading to the landfill the infinite tragedy of this land. The police on the one hand on a war footing, shields, tear gas and batons, on the other Aniello Matrone. By trade contadino.Desperate.he approach the platoon, holding a basket of apples. They are ugly, deformed, the color is unnatural: "There are, killing us, look at these apples . Nobody buys, the land is dead. " And Lucia, Maria, Sonia, Deborah.Young ladies, elderly, housewives and teachers. "We approached the police and carabinieri with rosaries in in the hands, praying the Holy Vergin, they beat us. An elderly woman was raised in weight, was lying on the ground not to pass the truck. "
Good people, exasperated, frightened, abandoned by every authority and politics, who in Campania eternal emergency no longer has neither words nor credible programs. But just meat. Like those who at night, when they arrive with compactors, move nimbly on the bikes, they cover their face and attack the trucks. Burn them. "This is urban warfare," shoted the head of the province . "Here is an organization that manages the timing and stages of military attacks on security everyone must be said in clear and distinct way, said Tommaso Sodano, the Provincial Council of the PRC Communist and former senator - that the second landfill site in the Vesuvius National Park will not be." Luigi Cesaro, deputy and president of the province, stutter, speaks of institutional tables and asks the first time to take over the whole cycle management of waste. The President of the Region, StefanoCaldoro, yesterday did a decree of authorizing the transfer of waste at landfills Savignano Irpino (Avellino), Sant'Arcangelo Trimonte (Benevento) and San Tammaro Caserta. They have no submerged. "That is a decision of Caldoro of extraordinary gravity. So you kill our agriculture, "he said a politician fromiBenevento.ta:" We're already we are full of garbage and two thirds is rubbish made in Naples. "
Eight hundred tonnes for road
ALL started two or three years ago, when Naples and the entire Campania were just a long lineof piles of waste. In Naples now there are again 850 tons of garbage on the streets, another 600 are fermenting on compactors. "The situation is of public health concern. Here if you do not tell us where to take waste it will be a real drama, said the Hygiene of the City councilor Paolo Giacomelli. The miracle of the rubbish of Berlusconi and Bertolaso was a miracle of rubbish, as they say in these parts (berlusconi proclame that the problem had been solved just putting the army to take peopel far from the waste disposal and buildin an incinerator...). Just climb right over the railroad said Louis and it is thelandfill of Terzigno to realize this. The smell is awful. The suspicion that this waste will be discharged without too much attention is real when you see down a real river of leachate (the liquid produced by fermentation of garbage) down the road. A trail of black, green, yellow, ill. But you just get two more accounts to understand how, once again after 15 years of receivership, scandals, arrests, camorree1, 2 billions of debts for the Province , Region, and Municipalities (Bertolaso, the minister of emergencies acts now as if they have washed their hands, for he is the emergence over). Landfills? Holes are filled and depleted. Terzigno in early 2011 will be filled. Savignano Irpino (capacity 700000 tont) will be saturated in 3 months. San Tammaro (Caserta) still has 5 months of life, that's it. And in the only burn waste incinerators, of the four planned to Acerra, is a dream. Of its three owens it worked only one and from a few days it was activated a second. The property, according to engineers and independent experts, not right in 18 months breached for more than 250 times the levels of emissions of fine particles.
Institutions play the blame-the proposed solutions do not like anyone anymore

Again the Parliament protects his members
The Chamber denied permission to act against Pietro Lunardi. The former Minister of Infrastructure, now deputy of the PDL, is under investigation for corruption along with the Archbishop of Naples, Sepe, on charges that he bought from Propaganda Fide, in 2004, the special price of € 3 million 4.5 millions CAD) a entire five-story building. Estimated 8 million euro in the historic center of Rome, the building was purchased in exchange for public funding of 2 and a half million euro for the renovation of a church building in Piazza di Spagna.
The opinion of the board for permits, which stipulated the return of documents to the college for ministerial crimes court in Perugia, was approved with 292 votes in favor, 254 against and 2 abstentions.
After purchasing the property, brokered by Angelo Balducci, Lunardi would get to the congregation of the Holy See a funding of 2 and a half million euro for the construction of a museum in the headquarters of the Congregation for the Evengelizatione Gentium, in Piazza di Spagna . Involved in the investigation are also the contractor and the architect Angelo Zampolini and Diego Anemone.(well known in Italy for other scandals)
Unusually To vote in the House there was a large squad of ministers and secretaries. Against the majority report of the Board who voted for Authorisation PD, IDV and UDC.(opposition parties)

worse and worse
The stark evidence of the facts. A journalist of a weekly owned by Berlusconi's family uses the services of a corporal of the Guardia di Finanza (Italian finance police/tax police) for repeated unauthorized access to the official database .The Tax spies incomes and assets of politicians, judges, industrialists and journalists considered opponents of the Prime Minister Berlusconi. You will notice the similarities with the work of a newspaper owned by the Berlusconi family specialized in the publication of surveys and files relating to the sexual habits, the real estate issues and judicial affairs of politicians, judges, industrialists and journalists considered (needless to say) the opponents of Prime Minister Berlusconi. On the subject of information and conflict of interest (or if you prefer: beatings in the press) think that we should not add more.
The stark evidence of the faces. The extraordinary episode of Report ( a well known tv transmission about italian political problems )dedicated to the offshore banks of which premier used for the purchase of villas on islands off-shore off-shore in Antigua has had a long prologue to the appointments, mostly imposed by Brambilla (italian undersecretary of tourism minister) at the top of ' Automobile Club of Italy, a veritable assault on the coach as he called one of the few items collected by the talented Giovanna Boursier . What we saw is the indecency (the boyfriend of the minister placed by the minister himself to the upper floors ACI) could not get away from famous people surveyed (all tall poppies of the ACI designation cool) if not painful silences . People who hide behind undeserved desks manifeste precisely the stark evidence of the irretrievable breakdown of Berlusconi's so-called leaders of the country. Once we had parceled by the parties. Today, bought and sold in the markets of the master.
As we write comes news of the blockade of transmission with Saviano (the writer of Gomorra)and Benigni (oscar winner) and unwelcome because of their ideas. So it is complete crap.

Women in Italy
Unemployed, precarious, whore, virgin raped, minister promoted for the appearance, for the bum, but even the mouth helps, obliged to accept advances at work, subject to the wishes of parents and delinquents, killed by uncles, husbands, lovers, former partners, thrown into the street by a pimp, introduced into the beds of the powerful like a bit of giftware to get their condescension. Underage females from outside the European Union, thousands of them, almost children, fresh flesh on the streets of all the cities, easy conquests for fathers of shit and families to the total indifference of everyone. Miss Italies who show off their merchandise in the early evenings, lasses whose smile, eyes will not be remembered, but only their breasts, the hips, the hollow of the thighs, showgirls with dental floss between their buttocks in all the TV programmes, semi-nudes even on Christmas Eve, scratch-card merchandise to fxxx, available to the Italians, unknowing hopeful prostitutes of the small screen. Underpaid, red-light quota, residual, marginal, excluded from the choices, from politics, without civil rights unless blessed by the sacredness of marriage, without a pension even though they are common law wives for all their life, without nurseries, without green spaces for their children, because almost always the children belong to the women. Body and not person, hole but not spirit. Object of vintage modern with lips like a boat, in old age similar to a madam of the ancient brothels. Moulded by necessities and by the triumph of the male member, lord and master of her life. No longer a person, but an object, that can be used, loaned, strangled, possessed. A mass transfer has transformed her from a living being to a thing of common availability, accessible, who cannot deny herself, she no longer has the right. Private property but also public, to be strangled if there’s a refusal, on the common stairwell, just above a blow-up doll, to be possessed even after death (last news about the murder of a your girl, yesterday), because a thing is neither alive nor dead. It’s just a thing, a woman, nothing but a woman.

NAPLES - There are batteries for cardiotest and patients should take the batteries from home to operate the technology.
Those working in the Loreto Crispi, hospital structure and day hospital of the Naples-well, they have been warned: the stock is over supplied and there is no money for a further supply.
It is only the latest consequence of the cuts of the plan of public healthcare system that are putting health care on their knees in Campania. After blocking the dispensing of drugs for the debts of the ASL with the chemists, a halt to the performance of radiological convention centers accredited (tac, resonance, echo and x-rays), the increase in ticket and recipes for medicines, and the establishment of 50 euro (75CAD) for white codes in the emergency room, here is the hypothesis of a self-replacement. " That, in this case, the minirecorder (pressure or heart rate) which when applied to the patient's life, is used to measure blood pressure within 24 hours or detect an electrocardiogram continuously, day and night.
The diagnostic test, which is essential to monitoring and detection of any rhythm disturbances, or hypertensive peaks, is based on digital technology that requires two batteries (usually the simple AA 1.5 volt). For an average cost is between 3 and 4 Euros( 6CAD), depending on the brand. From today, therefore, refills may be borne by patients in addition to payment of the bill ,but they will have to remember to buy batteries before going to the clinic of Loreto Crispi.
To certify that the ASL Napoli 1 center is no longer able to bear the cost of some principals is just a note sent yesterday to the Administrative Director of the Loreto: "Given the critical economic period that is currently going through the local health services, announced that "we cannot meet the expenses related to purchases of goods and services that require payment of suppliers in cash, surrender. " It means that people has to buy the small things needed all day. Besides batteries, already lacking toilet paper and soap in the bathrooms, while in some offices you can not replace a phone or a simple broken power supply. "If this continues, we ask you to also contribute to the payment of the equipment, "
The situation is hot and the governor PDL (government party) Caldoro Stefano (who is also Commissioner for Health) are forced every day to meet new emergencies, always a result of the cuts. Only three days ago, on the sidelines of a conference, to highlight the sacrifices and efforts required to Campania by a repayment plan that takes no account of funds not yet disbursed by the government, had attacked fellow Caldoro Luca Zaia Veneto and Roberto Cota Piedmont calling them "arrogant and overbearing." Criticized both for the criticism received in the waste and health. And then there are hospitals to be closed, three in Naples and a dozen in the entire region. But for some principals to be converted, mayors and citizens have put up a real revolt.

Italy to combat prostitution by cutting trees
Environmental organisations today expressed outrage over a plan by local authorities in the Abruzzo region of central Italy to combat prostitution with deforestation.
For decades, local law enforcement and politicians have struggled to police the Bonifica del Tronto road, a haven for the sex trade that runs inland for more than 10 miles from the Adriatic coast alongside the river Tronto. Over the years, cameras have been installed, raids mounted, 24-hour patrols implemented and the mayors of towns near the road have signed bylaws imposing fines on prostitutes' clients. All to no avail.
At the end of last month, the regional government's public works chief, Angelo Di Paolo, announced that the time had come for drastic measures. He said he had agreed with provincial and municipal representatives to cut down all the vegetation "around and along the banks [of the river Tronto]", in which the prostitutes ply their trade.
A local authority "ought to contribute to the solution of problems relating to law and order," said Di Paolo. But in a statement three environmental groups, including the WWF, said that the scheme would destroy 28 hectares (69 acres) of woodland vital to local ecosystems, saying the only crime of the thousands of trees on the local authorities' hit list had been to "offer with their fronds shelter and intimacy to sex slaves".
The authorities, they added, had "not even taken into account mitigating circumstances". "Among these are having absorbed thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide and given man precious oxygen," they said. They also prevented fertiliser and pesticides from reaching the river.
A census this month by an NGO found almost 600 prostitutes at work on the Bonifica del Tronto. Most were Nigerians, but they included Romanians, Brazilians, Albanians and Chinese.
Di Paolo is a man known for resolute responses. Some years ago, when he was mayor of the town of Canistro, he won national fame for shooting at a bank robber whom he then chased and caught.

The policy of unnecessary and costly missions
Spot for tourists, out of control. It is. A waste of 100 million (150.000.000 CAD)per year with Roberto Formigoni (Lombardia Governor) record holder among the globetrotters who since 1995 has led delegations to 49 countries, from Calcutta to Hanoi until the meeting with Fidel Castro. The last mission, the Expo in Shanghai involved 600 politicians from regional councilors, mayors and councilors. For one of them, the assessor Calabrese Antonio Caridi was "an unmissable showcase for our crafts."
A dense network of travel and business delegations are shuttling between Turin and Dubai since 2006 to promote the beauty of their land , just as they did in Belarus and Japan.
Governors, Cabinet members, advisors, regional municipalities, provinces and universities are eternally committed to travel the world without knowing for what purpose. The Members of Piedmont, in 2009 spent 267mila euro (380000CAD) of travels . The Lombards 440 000, of which only 200 000 Formigoni. Calculating the missions the region rose to 3.6 million refund.
In Liguria between 2006 and 2007 were 2.8 million spent for missions (including employees) travel assessors (in China, Canada, Uruguay, Brazil and Russia) has cost 400 000 euro. The rich autonomous province of Trento in 2005 spent 226 thousand euro, in 2006 to buy 750 tickets to employees.
Campania, Lazio and Sicily in 2009 alone they spent 450 thousand euro (635000 CAD). Record holder among the travellers is regional member Joseph Gennuso MPA, who spent 122 days out of Sicily for 45 institutional missions.
Favorite destinations: U.S., Australia, Morocco, Miami Beach , New York
The province of Siracusa have relations with Uzbekistan but from the Asian country not a single visitor came to Sicily. In 2007, the region of Sicily has spent 1.6 billion to increase foreign visitors despite the visitors to the island have fallen by 1, 7% in 2008 and 7% in 2009.
A lot of money spent on advisors with the suitcases and forever never required to show a balance in their shipments. Luckily sometimes the judges ask for some explanations. Gianluca Rinaldin, ras of the PDL in Como (re-elected by popular acclaim) is on trial for corruption and fraud for trips to Brazil, Lapland and New Jersey. He traveled much the former alderman who has bargained Piergianni Prosperini 3 years and 5 months for corruption in Russia and loved to go to Eritrea, where according to the prosecutors also ran an arms trafficking.
A Power has accused the former chairman of the committee Lucani abroad, Rocco Curcio, a PCI-PDS in the past, remained in Australia in 10 days at the expense of the region.
Also the memorable "institutional mission" in 2005 the former mayor of Bologna Delbono in Mexico City for a conference with the then wife Cynthia Cracco, a touristic village in the Yucatan. He pretended to have lost the ticket and had to pay 1,480 euro "for missions."
Record-expenditure in Emilia Giuseppe Villani, the PDL, which spent 25 thousand euro to go from Argentina to Chile and the Socialist Paolo Zanca, 33 000 euro for betting in New York, Taiwan, Zwolle, Holland, Rotenburg and Santiago. Chile is a favorite of directors of Emilia, the delegation also present in the days of the earthquake. The visit of Emilia in the world, led by Silvia Bartolini, over the past three years has cost almost 3 million euro.
The crowded delegation to Columbus Day in New York in 2004 to attract tourists to the World Ski Championships in Valtellina has brought visitors from the States. The 2008 edition dedicated to Christopher Columbus has cost taxpayers Lombard 170 000 euro.
Nichi Vendola was in Montenegro, Albania, Istria, Egypt, Macedonia, Bosnia just as the governor of the Marches Mario Smash to "relaunch the Adriatic." The Molise Michele Iorio loves the U.S. where it goes, the annual prayer meeting in Washington sponsored by the conservative evangelical association.
Margherita Cogo, Department of Culture of the province of Trento was in Paris, Prague, St. Petersburg and Beijing to promote the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rovereto.
The commissioner Campania migration Alfonsina De Felice was in Johannesburg and New York to create cultural ties.... a bad habit for which there are no spending limits and limits on the number of participants.
On a mission in Catalonia in the province of Trento was attended, in 2007, seven directors have spent 18 thousand euro.
I could go on but I just stopped to reflect on the uselessness of these politicians' travel paid by the Italian taxpayers without coordination and without logic, without sectoralisation with potentially relevant countries as economic partners.
In Italy, they all move in a random order, as opposed to German politicians. because everything here is "institutional mission."
The Court does not always enter in the assessments about the travel, but a ruling in February last sentence Multari Lucio, a powerful former regional manager in 2003 organized a field trip to the usual Columbus Day, raising the initial cost from 35,000 to EUR 70 000 with 13 participants, among them chairman of the board, Bruno Casamassa, Udeur.
In 2008, the Court of Auditors has sentenced 10 former directors and officials called the town of Meda, acquitted at first instance: "The activities of an international character, already intuitively require a unity of purpose and a strategic overview, incompatible with the municipal level, "motivate accounting judges, adding that" these regions have to go through the necessary coordination state. " Where they had gone the assessors? As it happens, just in Shanghai.

Frattini on the alarms from Serbia: "I do not know them"
After the guerrilla at the Marassi stadium in Genoa, Italy, Serbia has become a political case.
The blame is over Interior Minister Roberto Maroni. According to opposition criticism what is bad is that the thugs Serbs have managed to enter the stadium after they attacked a bus in the afternoon of their own national team and created serious accidents in the Pre. Yet the alarm was raised in the air. Just days before the same characters for the same reasons, had ruined the Gay Pride in Belgrade, creating a veritable revolt with about 150 wounded among the police. But the foreign minister, Franco Frattini interrogated by ilfattoquotidiano.it replies: " Alarms? I do not know them "
ROME - "We avoided a massacre," Interior Minister Roberto Maroni swears. For the holder of the Interior Ministry, which this morning met with the Chief of Police Antonio Manganelli, after the riots in Genoa Italy-Serbia, we can not impute any liability to the Italian police. "Indeed," not doing badly, he avoided a massacre " . From Serbia, however, reach different signals. On the one hand an apology and a promise to the mouth of Foreign Minister Vuk Yeremic, to take "radical measures against the criminals who caused the accident." at the other accusations to Italian police. For the interior minister and vice premier of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, in fact, the measures pre-game did not work: a large group of fans has made it stay. Speaking in Belgrade, Dacic noted that the intervention Italian police could have been much more effective: it should not be allow to enter the stadium to fans in possession of various objects ;in Belgrade would never have happened. The Deputy Minister of Sport of Serbia, Dragan Tanasov, asks, "how was possible that the hooligans were able to bring in even fireworks. "
And that has not worked out (but in reverse) can be understood even by the words of the spokesman for the observatory on sporting events, Roberto Massucci: "From our side there was no underestimation, if anything, we have stretch marks registered in the information system with Belgrade and no kind of warning we have been informed. " It takes more and more standing friction between Italian and Serbian authorities. "There has been no cooperation from the Serb police and there was no policeman sent following of fans, which is always hand in Italy," says Antonello Valentini, director general of the Football Federation.
But there is one question that remains suspended: why these fans have come to Genoa? Massucci reply thus: "Serbia has changed the system this year, a Serbian citizen can go into extra-Schengen countries without a visa. Rather, the troublemakers could be locked in origin. So how do we ask not to sell tickets those who have the stadium Daspi or offenses in other countries for travel. " Massucci, then back on the dynamics of accidents and traces the various stages. "There was a critical moment during the flow: this has been nullified by the fact that we had let them in order not to devastate the city." Then in the clashes and end the game (when he was arrested the now famous masked thug accused of carrying weapons and damage). Finally, the budget: 38 identified, 35 of which are being examined and 17 of the surveys on which we are working on an order of arrest.

"Treated like animals and ignored by policy"
Beatrice Borromeo (www.ilfattoquotidiano.it)
Fabrizio Gatti, investigative journalist for L'Espresso who wrote about life in the clandestine "detention centers" for immigrants, is not surprised at all when we ask about of the revolt of Cagliari (yesterday illegal immigrants have occupied the Cagliari airport in Sardinia and there has been a strong reaction from police). He explains: "No wonder that immigrants who are treated like animals, the sky darkened by networks of metal to prevent the escape, can stay calm and take or kill himself or run away in protest and block the runway of an airport."
It is the only way to know what is happening inside the centers? (centers where the illegal immigrants are kept till 180 days to identify and decide if they have to be sent back or have immigration for humanitarian reasons)
Yes, and this is dramatic. There are centers that do not deploy multiple calling cards because there were those who used them to cut their veins.
In 2000, the journalist pretended to be an immigrant from Romania and was in the center for immigrants in Milan. After his article the center has been closed.
There was a steel fence, barbed wire and we were in an iron container. I did in the Corriere della Sera, a report on the hygiene conditions, overcrowding and promiscuity among the boys and girls. There were also sexual violence and an epidemic of scabies.
Then, in 2005, hasbeen captured in the sea of Lampedusa.(small island near Africa, where the most of illegal boats arrive)
I was eight days in that center. The maximum capacity was 190 people, but we were 1200. The toilets did not have the download and go to the bathroom you had to put my feet in the mire of urine and faeces.
What are the worst things you saw?
The absolute isolation of the people trapped and the total violation of constitutional guarantees, as the hearing with a magistrate within 48 hours, plus the ability to seek political asylum.
And the authorities ?
Once the police have played a military 'corridor': immigrants just landed, the weakest, were passed in the middle of two rows of military personnel to their search and slapped on the head. I have seen yelling at someone to sit in Italian or English. And who did not understand the order was being beaten. A boy has been kicked.
What else did the police?
Approached the minors, which in theory would not had to be there and forced them to see pornographic images on their mobile phones.
The centers are also very expensive.
There is a dossier of Doctors Without Borders that only 40 percent of those in the centers is actually repatriated. And our potential asylum seekers, mostly Somalis and Eritreans, are sent back and jailed in Libya through our agreements with Gaddafi.
But the centers are useful in keeping order, at least?
They are a great staging, more useful to reassure Italians that to ensure safety or to discover the identity, intentions or rights of refuge for those arriving.
However, landings have declined.
From 176 000 rejections of 2008 we moved to 106.000 in 2009 and this is an important indicator to understand that fewer people come. But it is mainly due to the economic crisis.
In 2005, when he was a "guest" of the Center of Milan, the maximum period of detention was much lower than today.
It was from eight days to two weeks. The maximum amount allowed by law was 30 days. Then the immigrants were being sent to other centers or sent back to Libya, although their identification was brief.
Today may hold up to six months.
And, moreover, nothing prevents that, once released, can be arrested and detained again. In theory, an irregular leaving the center after six months could cross the street and be arrested again. So, potentially, stay in town can be a life sentence.
he was eight days in Lampedusa. Can you imagine six months there?
No. And since the smaller parties have been excluded from the Parliament , such as PRC and the Greens, . We journalists, if we want to visit one, we must ask with a notice of at least a month, making it impossible to really control the situation. The sense of abandonment for those who are imprisoned is even stronger at that time.

Mafia in Milan
Frediano Manzi former president of "Sos racket e usura" needs to be protected with body guards . His is the voice against the mafias in the desert of the institutons of the North of Italy. The 'ndrangheta that is in charge in Milan is no longer a novelty, it’s a fact. The Lombardy-style omertĂ is in competition with the legendary Sicilian one described by Leonardo Sciasca. The fantastic Milan that “gives you a hand” has been replaced with a vulgar and ‘gambling-den’ Milan that is investing in cement and in gaming houses. The latest discovery for making families and pensioners even poorer is Sisal’s casino in Piazza Diaz with 100 slot machines and other games of chance, referred to as “eat-your-money” machines. The building, right in the middle of the moral capital is called Wincity. Outside, the loan sharks and the usurers are queuing up.
Interview with Frediano Manzi former president of "Sos racket e usura”
I am Frediano Manzi, former president of "Sos racket e usura”, that was killed off by those who govern the city of Milan because they were afraid of tackling the important and true topics that we have raised about this city, namely about the massive presence in Milan and its hinterland of organised crime. This is our office, as you can see, the operational heart of our association. For a year we asked in vain for an office so as to avoid every denunciation having the address of my own home on it, that is opening us up to very important risks. For two weeks the schools of my children have been protected by the security forces because there have been direct threats to my family, thus the insensitivity of ths city has been demnstrated by the actions that we have taken, in the last few years, more than 500 denunciations with dozens of criminal proceedings initiated. Perhaps one of the most important has been to have demonstrated that in Milan there are organised cirminals that deal with the management of the racket of homes, they replace the State and they allocate homes in public housing projects if they are paid money. There have been arrests. Others will follow. These have attaracted attention to this reality. It has annoyed this administration that is giving Milan another reality, a Milan that should have been hidden, that was the Milan of the preiphery. We have neighbourhoods where our association cannot enter or where it enters exclusively if accompanied by the security forces because we are constantly threatened and insulted, where we first raised this issue and where we asked something very important of ourselves: how is it that the politicians that have made the issue of housing their battle-cry, and here I am turning to the left wing, a home is the right of everyone, they said, yet they have they never supported us, why have they never supported us? We asked for the distribution of a questionnaire to the 80 thousand people who have public housing in Milan. A questionnaire where these phenomenon were discussed. They didn’t give us a hand, perhaps because a cruel picture of this city would have emerged, a picture that we have displayed with dozens and dozens of denunciations to the Milan Prosecution Office.

The institutions of hate
Giovanardi, the minister is the living proof of the inadequacy of the men of power in this country. For years Italy has been blocked by a lack of reforms and courage, a place where there is a strange conception of justice and legality. If you're rich and powerful can do what you want if you're a poor man must follow the rules. It is one of the countries with more culture to the world, but it works less, one of the places where you cut more on education, research, culture. If a Martian came down on the Italian sky to observe the political developments of our state would see a majority committed to a single man and an opposition that no longer enjoys any credibility.
Meanwhile, not only in Italy , there are growing forces of the extreme right, xenophobic parties and violent because in times of crisis can not be democratic,as when it comes to survival, always racist pressures are the strongest ones.. Politics and politicians are well aware of this ,and that is the reason why Giovanardi's words take on a social role as well as in front of a political crisis that these men have not only caused, but who can not put a brake.
The institutions in crisis, to divert attention from their own inefficiency, stick their heads down their scapegoats: Roma, immigrants, homosexuals, etc. ..., expendable minorities to be hated by people, an outlet that allows you to depress the pressure to give a little 'of oxygen to the powers that be in distress.
The accusations are often unfounded and / or inflated. He did as a well-known clergyman, not too long ago, saying that between homosexuality and pedophilia were some connectons. Now Giovanardi, undersecretary for family with a great desire to be on the newspapers first page, holds that in countries where legislation has allowed the adoption of children by same-sex couples, have increased cases of sale of children.
Very serious statement that finds no counterpart in any document and Giovanardi has not showed any written and / or reports from the agencies that deal with specific issues.
So what drives a man of the state to do certain very serious allegations? The desire to star? Or is there perhaps a cynical plot to spread hate in society toward gay people? We should perhaps remind Giovanardi that several other people before him have given rise to prejudice against ethnic / racial / sexual minorities condemning these then to the gas chambers, the gulag or concentration camps? instead of shooting nonsense why Giovanardi does not quantify omogenitoriali families in this country and does not work to ensure that children of these couples are finally considered in the same way as all other children? Does Giovanardi know that boys and girls are discriminated against families omogenitoriali from that state he represents?
We now await the reaction of those states who have been involved in the words of Giovanardi, nonsense words, discriminatory, violent, false, homophobic. Meanwhile, another gay couple was beaten by a group of men filled with hatred for something they do not understand.

The God of hate
There is a part of Europe that wants all people are equal, which tends to recognize civil rights, which is committed to ensuring that violence and homophobia are only reflections of an ancient unjustified and crazy hate .
And there's a part of Europe but that feeds this hate, irrational, violent child of ignorance and prejudice. It so happens that a gay pride parade in Belgrade is stormed by right-wing groups and religious outraged protesters in front of the opportunity to freely express one's being and attitudes. Last year, also in Belgrade, the gay pride parade ended in blood. This year, civilized Europe has had to witness once again to the denial of the rights of LGBT people.
5000 cops on the street and only a thousand participants, assaulted and insulted by religious extremists and neo-Nazi groups who have met in the streets Orthodox priests and their acolytes with religious banners. Respondents said they wanted to save Serbia from the devil, GLBT people are sick and that only God can save them.
And it is always God, or its mirror image, which is used by different peoples and different religions (sometimes it's a messiah, sometimes an other worldly presence) to foment hatred and discrimination and create death. And the books are "sacred", written by men, who are brought into the streets to justify his hatred.
"It says in the Bible" or "The Koran says," but then he had never studied these texts, perhaps he had never even read. So you justify the murder in places like Iran where gay people, even minor ones, are hanged in public. Or in other places, where if you are gay you are imprisoned or stoned. And then there is Europe, even places that say they are civilians like Italy, where being gay is not against the law but where it is still laughed at, beaten, humiliated and, unfortunately, sometimes, killed. Some will say that Italy is not like Iran. Of course not. And maybe even as Russia where the former prime minister (but then not so ex) Putin is a great friend of our current head of government.
Russia, a country where LGBT persons are forbidden to express their rights, in the terrifying silence of the rest of Europe. The pride in Russia are prohibited, the police intervened and arrested the demonstrators who, almost always, are also beaten by religious extremists and neo-Nazis always present to defend the honor of their country.
They speak of nature, They say that gay people are against nature.
And do not you ever stop to reflect on the very concept of nature.
When it is noted that homosexuality is in the animal world, they says: "Eh we are men,not animals."
So in that sense we speak of nature?
The marriage may have existed in nature? Of course not, is nothing but a social construction desired by men. And religion is present in nature? Of course not, it too is a social construction called for by males.
Belgrade is only the tip of the iceberg. Why not tell people how many homosexuals in the world are imprisoned, raped, beaten, tortured, killed? Why do not you tell people that the Vatican, at the forefront to save the embryos, has never lifted a finger or said a word to help homosexual persons sentenced to death or imprisoned?
God is still love? Or is it just hate, power, domination, violence?

Injuries and work related deaths.
According to what the numbers say, the white deaths in Italy are less and less. Good news, though it is hard to see where it ends the safety of construction sites and factories, and where begins blackmail and silence. Yes, because looking at the official number of work related deaths, also if the silent massacre continues, Italy's portrait that emerges is that of a country which, after all, is not so bad. The most recent data, provided by Inail (work insurance government company), for 2009, speak of "790,000 industrial accidents, a decrease of 9.7% compared to 2008, which means 85 thousand cases less than the year before." The number of deaths, according to the Inail (National Institute for Insurance against accidents at work), fell between 2008 and 2009, rising from 1,120 to 1,050. A positive trend, then. According to the surveys of the Veneto Vega Observatory on Security Engineering, in the first eight months of 2010 to have lost their lives at work are 358. Let's assume that, despite the gravity of the situation at the end of the data will be even lower.
Beyond the official numbers, however, the situation is more complex. The unions explained: "Certainly the Inail not mind. The numbers and figures without a doubt show a decrease of accidents and deaths :" But it must be said that there was also the contraction of hours worked. Also, there is growth in the number of illegal workers, who often in cases of injury, are not able to report anything. There are many daily records of foreigners left in front of an emergency. " A point of view indirectly confirmed by the numbers: the detection of Engineering Vega recorded as 90% of Italians are injured in the age group most protected, that between 40 and 59 years. In short, young people or foreigners are never injured, or are not able to report. "The crisis has led to a general tightening of the competition, poisoned by the criterion of maximum downward and a too-long chain of subcontractors explains the secretary of Fillea Schiavella-Walter and this has an impact on the weakest of the weak, foreigners held in by crime of illegal immigration. " Another figure that the union deemed significant is related to the hours of sick leave, increased by 11% in 2009. This is an item that is considered an indicator system to silence widespread injuries and accidents: "The employer - added by Fillea - makes an agreement with its employee asking injured, possibly in return for some extra cash out of the envelope, but not to report the accident to get in condition. " This avoids problems. It may also be explained in this way, the trend has been declining.

THE REVOLT OF THE SLAVES
Vincenzo Iurillo (il Fatto Quotidiano)
The landmarks of the slave markets are the roundabouts scattered among the avenues of Caserta, the Domitian coast, the province north of Naples. It is around these concrete plazas that every day thousands of immigrants, mostly Africans, are hired for a few Euros per day. To work illegally in construction, retail, in the countryside. Without insurance, without protection, without contributions. Without any rights.
Yesterday morning at dawn the army of illegal and silent and laborers stimated at almost 7000 people according to the movements of migrants and refugees - has decided to protest crossing his arms. To say no to the conditions previously imposed on them by the foremen, the daily wages from hunger even lower with the current crisis, the deduction of 3 or 5 euro imposed by slaveholders in the Third Millennium.
SUPPORTED by social centers, anti-racist movements and voluntary associations, immigrants gathered in Green Bay, Villa Literno, Castelvolturno, Casal di Principe, Plain, Scampia, Afragola, Giugliano, Quaglia-no, Licola, Quarto, wore to the sign: "Today I do not work for less than 50 euro a day." Distributing a leaflet titled "We Men or Corporals," they explained their reasons to motorists and passers-by intrigued. Telling stories of appalling exploitation. Like the 30 year old North African who breaks his back 10 hours a day for 15-20 euro, depending on the mood of the corporal ( men that go around every morning to hire workers) on duty. Or the young Nigerian who downloads crates of fruit and milk in a supermarket for free days in the hope, that does not always come true, to receive a salary at the weekend.
JOSEPH, 39 YEARS, Ghanaian living in Italy for nine, is married and has two children. He lives in suburban Villa Literno, says to make with odd jobs from 25-30 euro per day and admits They are not enough to live. In the summer, Joseph is the farm hand: picking fruit for 12 hours a day. Alternatively, he is a gardener, a porter, a bricklayer. Does not reach the thousand euro per month and net of bills and food . "Here circulated a joke that is not so far from reality: there are those who only work for a sandwich," says D'Amico Mimma from the ex Canapificio , one of the organizations that promoted the strike. "But we are seeing a paradoxical situation: in the police controls only stumble these workers, because illegal or undocumented, and not the exploiters. Taking advantage of them because they have no residence permit, forcing them to accept conditions really absurd. Things that we denounce every year, in the deafening silence of the government and institutions, to which we turn to interventions to promote the emergence of the black economy. "
The situation has worsened in recent years since the historic community of Asian and African immigrants were joined by the Romanians and citizens of Eastern Europe, who agrees to work in worse conditions (the Romanians yesterday have worked the same ). The protest of the immigrants was always peaceful and composed. "A great event - said Alfonso De Vito, network anti-racist - because those people have had the courage to take to the streets, put his face and challenge the corporals." At Green Bay, where Miriam Makeba died in the square at the end of a concert for the victims of the massacre of San Gennaro in Castel Volturno, many are moved and devote a thought to Mother Africa. Praying for a better future.

Professor Moffat denies the Holocaust in a master presented at Palazzo Chigi ( seat of the italian Government )
Giampiero CalapĂ (La Repubblica)
A master dedicated to Enrico Mattei ,Eni and policies in the Middle East, deny of the Holocaust of 6 million Jews : professed by Claudio Moffa, University of Teramo ,was presented in pomp even at Palazzo Chigi, seat of the Italian Government.
The case broke yesterday. La Repubblica ( Italian newspaper) tells about a lesson of September 25 last year - over online on You-Tube - where the professor goes to justify the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler: "There is no document saying that Hitler wanted to exterminate all Jews." Moffa, however, is no stranger to incidents of this type, in 2007 the University of Teramo closed its doors to the Master "Enrico Mattei", to distance itself from the invitation in the classroom of the leader of the "denial" World , Robert Faurisson, a professor of literature (not history). Despite this precedent, the size of a beam in his eye, the University of Teramo and the Faculty of Political Science - in the meantime have changed their rectors and deans - has welcomed back the master Moffa.
The Italian Government ,this time, has hosted in a multi-purpose room of Palazzo Chigi, the presentation of the master, May 6 last, in the presence of Moffa, the rector of Teramo Rita Tranquilli Leali and the historian Franco Cardini. Professor Moffa quoted professor Robert Faurisson," The building which is shown in Auschwitz is a building that has no technical features designed to have been a gas chamber. The Zyklon B was used to disinfect the clothes of the inmates. "
The position of the Faculty of Political Science, was explained by the rector Enrico Del Colle " about the theme and obviously not the person, the position of the University is clear, and it is the same as three years ago when he had already spoken on a similar event. Exactly. Too bad that the master is then resumed. In 2007, following the case Fourisson, Moffat took a stand against many historians of the University of Teramo: "we whave worked and will work, research and teaching on the subjects of anti-Semitism, the concentration camp system and of its memory." At the end Faurisson did not speak in court, the university that day was even closed by the rector of the time, Mauro Mattioli. In those days the Education Minister Fabio Mussi who said yesterday "a professor at the University of Teramo, is organizing a course for denying the Holocaust, presented at Palazzo Chigi in May. He had already tried in 2007 and invited to lecture the well-known Holocaust denier Robert Faurisson. The minister then urged and supported the rector of the time, which prevented the right, closing the university in Abruzzo. Here has nothing to do freedom of expression ,here the subject is racial hatred and apology of Nazism, which are crimes until proven guilty. How long will the actual Minister Gelmini to understand that it is her duty to intervene on behalf of the government with a clear position? ". Pd by the former deputy secretary Walter Veltroni and Emanuele Fiano announces an urgent question to the Government.. Late, however, Minister of University Maria Stella Gelmini, in a speech to Tg5 said : "The words are unacceptable, they offend the memory of Jews died in gas chambers. It is not possible that in the Italian universities there are professors who theach to hate. "

The Holy Prepuce : an italian story
By David Farley
"In 1983, as the residents of Calcata, a small town 30 miles north of Rome, prepared for their annual procession honoring a holy relic, a shocking announcement from the parish priest put a damper on festivities. "This year, the holy relic will not be exposed to the devotion of the faithful. It has vanished. Sacrilegious thieves have taken it from my home." Not since the Middle Ages, when lopped-off body parts of divine do-gooders were bought, sold, and traded, has relic theft been big news. But the mysterious disappearance of Calcata's beloved curio is different."
According to legends of the village of Calcata, in 1527 a soldier in the German army sacking Rome looted the Sanctum sanctorum. When he was eventually captured in the village, he hid the jeweled reliquary containing the Holy Prepuce in his cell, where it was discovered in 1557. It was officially venerated by the Catholic Church in Calcata since that time, with the Vatican's offering a ten-year indulgence to pilgrims. Calcata became a popular site for pilgrimage.[2]
In 1856, however, the Charroux Abbey rediscovered what it considered to be the true Holy Prepuce, which it claimed to have received from Charlemagne. It had been lost for centuries. The rediscovery led to a theological clash with people over the established Holy Prepuce of Calcata, which had been officially venerated by the Church for hundreds of years. In 1900, the Catholic Church solved the dilemma by ruling that anyone writing or speaking of the Holy Prepuce would be excommunicated. In 1954, after much debate, the punishment was changed to the harsher degree of excommunication, vitandi (shunned). Later the Second Vatican Council removed the Day of the Holy Circumcision from the church calendar in its review of holy days and obligations.[3]
Calcata continued to stage an annual procession on the Day of the Holy Circumsion to honor the relic. In 1983, however, parish priest Dario Magnoni announced, "This year, the holy relic will not be exposed to the devotion of the faithful. It has vanished. Sacrilegious thieves have taken it from my home." He had reportedly kept it in a shoebox in the back of a wardrobe. Citing the Vatican's decree of excommunication, Magnoni refuses to further discuss the event, as does the Vatican. As a result, villagers' theories of the crime vary from theft for lucrative resale to an effort by the Vatican to quietly put an end to the practice it had attempted to end by excommunication years ago. Some residents speculate that Magnoni may have been the culprit
